PITTSBURGH, Sept. 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Allegheny Health Network's (AHN) Allegheny General Hospital (AGH) is once again set to serve as a backdrop for the critically acclaimed Max Original drama series, 'THE PITT,' from Warner Bros. Television, as production returns to the hospital this week to film scenes for the show's second season.

Filming locations will include the hospital's LifeFlight helipad, a rooftop which provides scenic views of the city, and various entryways to the facility. Interior scenes will continue to be filmed on set at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, Calif., which meticulously replicates the unique architectural and historic details of AGH.

Starring Noah Wyle, the show is a realistic examination of the current challenges facing healthcare workers in America, as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh

The series has garnered significant attention for its accurate portrayal of the current healthcare landscape since premiering on HBO Max early this year. 'THE PITT' recently took home 5 wins, including Outstanding Drama Series, across 13 nominations at this year's Emmy® Awards, further solidifying its impact and relevance.

As with the first season, hospital officials emphasize that patient care and hospital operations will not be impacted during filming.

"The response to 'THE PITT' has been overwhelmingly positive, and our employees have been incredibly excited to see their workplace featured on a national stage in such a compelling way," said Imran Qadeer, MD, president, AGH. "We are proud to welcome the production team back and continue our partnership with this important series, which shines a light on the dedication and resilience of health care professionals, and the life-changing impact they have on patients, families and communities."

The show is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and created by R. Scott Gemmill. Among its executive producers are Carnegie Mellon University graduates John Wells and Michael Hissrich.

"Allegheny General Hospital and Pittsburgh itself was such a big part of the visual impact of our first season. We're very excited to be back in town to show the city and hospital in season two. AGH and its dedicated healthcare professionals continue to help us tell compelling stories and show the hardworking people of the Pittsburgh area. I couldn't be happier to be filming in my hometown," said Pittsburgh-native Hissrich.

Located on Pittsburgh's Northside, AGH has been a leading provider of advanced healthcare services since opening its doors in 1886. The hospital is currently home to some of the nation's foremost institutes for cancer care, cardiovascular medicine and surgery, neurosciences, orthopedic surgery, trauma care, and organ transplantation, among other specialties.

AGH is the region's premier Level 1 trauma center and a regional referral facility for the sickest patients and most complex cases. Its more than 5,000 employees help care for hundreds of thousands of patients annually.
